INTRODUCING POKÉMON TCG BATTLE STYLES

Choose your attack style in the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Battle Styles expansion. This expansion introduces an exciting new gameplay mechanic called Battle Styles, introducing two different forms of attack: Single Strike Style and Rapid Strike Style. The former is the Pokémon equivalent of a throwing a knockout punch; the latter is the Pokémon equivalent of a chess game using tactical attacks and building steadily to victory.

DECK HINTS AND TIPS

DANGEROUS DUO!

When you evolve your Bellsprout into Weepinbell, you can make your opponent’s Active Pokémon Burned and Poisoned with Weepinbell’s Dangerous Mucus Ability. This pairs perfectly with Salazzle, which is now primed for a great attack: unleash a massive Derisive Roasting attack for 180 damage, and then watch the extra damage from those Special Conditions pile on during Pokémon Checkup! And if you’re OK with taking on some risk for the chance of even more power, you can add Yell Horn to bring the attack up to 270 damage—just remember, Salazzle will be Confused after it hears the horn, so it might end up hurting itself instead!

FEARSOME FANGS TAKE THE PRIZE

Double dipping is usually not a great idea, but with Stoutland V, it’s perfectly OK! Though the Double Dip Fangs attack does just 40 damage, if you Knock Out your opponent’s Basic Pokémon with it, you’ll get an extra Prize card! This is an attack just crying out to be paired with some Powerful Colorless Energy  so you can deliver 60, 80, or more damage! Add more damage boosts, such as Vitality Band or Leon, to amp yourself up and grab those extra Prize cards!

EXTREMELY MOBILE METAL

Mighty metal gets a powerful support ally with Bronzong! Its Metal Transfer Ability can move Metal Energy  around on your team as often as you like during your turn. Then pair it with Cheryl, but play smart. Move your Energy off of any damaged Evolution Pokémon first, then play Cheryl to heal them all up (no attached Energy means no discard), and then move that Energy right back! That Corviknight VMAX or Aegislash is now ready to keep swinging!
